Missions

Mission Friends is the WMU® organization for preschooles, babies through kindergarten.

Mission Friends offers preschoolers fun and exciting learning experiences to begin understanding missions.

Missions Friends helps preschoolers to …

• learn that not everyone knows about God’s love
Mission Friends also helps parents or caregivers to learn ways that they can help others know about Jesus.

Mission Friends helps preschoolers complete the heart tasks of WMU:
• learn about missions
• pray for missions
• support missions
• do missions and witness
• develop spiritually toward a missions lifestyle
• participate in the work of the church and the denomination

WOW Wednesday

Meets every Wednesday from 6:00-7:15 pm for children entering first grade throught fifth grade. We teach children each Wednesday to "Win Our World" through worship, Bible study, mission projects, and recreation. It is a safe environment where we sing upbeat music with dvd's, learn about characters in the Bible with fun activities and games. Our mission projects include: Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry and Appalachian Regional Ministry. We conclude each week in our Reward Room where the children have fun playing on game systems with each other.

  Women on Mission

Women on Mission® is ongoing missions involvement and learning that extends across the globe. Missions opportunities, learning materials and many free resources have been created to help women develop a missions lifestyle. As a part of Women on Mission, ladies have the opportunity to participate in missions and ministries that enable them to experience a variety of ways to serve Christ.

Ultimately, the purpose of all Women on Mission activities is that every person have the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.     (Matthew 28:19-20 KJV)

The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering® is much more than an offering envelope and an annual missions-giving emphasis. When people give to the offering, 100 percent of their gift will be transformed into missionary salaries and ministry supplies for Southern Baptist missionaries to North America. Those missionaries and supplies will help others hear the message of Christ and respond in faith to His offer of salvation.

The week of February 13 -19 is, "Focus on WMU Week." This year's theme is, "By All Means." Its purpose is to promote awareness and recognition of how mission work and giving within our church ministers to others in Jesus' name."

All mission groups are encouraged to reflect on how their mission work makes a difference and invite others to join them.

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is collected for the sole purpose of supporting Southern Baptist international missions. Every penny of the offering goes to the International Mission Board’s overseas budget, thus supporting our missionaries and their work. Their mission is to make disciples of all peoples in fulfillment of the Great Commission. Their vision is a multitude from every language, people, tribe and nation knowing and worshipping our Lord Jesus Christ.
