Friendship has a glorious history. It began in 1990 with the vision of the Rehoboth Baptist Association, Rev. Boe Stanley, Director of Missions, and the
Missions Development Committee, to plant a mission church in an area of Houston County targeted for growth. In August of that year, fifteen people met in the Association's assembly room and founded Friendship Baptist Mission. Brother Boe served as the first pastor and a five-acre site was acquired on Feagin Mill Road upon which to build.
Rev. Tim Millwood served as pastor from January 1992 until June of 2004. During his ministry, the mission formally constituted and became a completely autonomous church in April, 1995, hereafter known as Friendship Baptist Church. On May 3, 1992 groundbreaking ceremonies were held on our present site and later that month construction began on the "T-Type" first phase building. For the next three months, numerous volunteer crews from Georgia and surrounding states as well as local volunteers worked to complete construction.
